Flights to Cape Verde From the Deputy-Chairman of Sambala, Dominic McGlynn 'Due to Cape Verde's ever-growing popularity, the number of direct flight connections to the islands has increased markedly over recent years. An 'Open Skies' policy allows foreign airlines, besides the national carrier, TACV, to fly in to Cape Verde and also to operate inter-island flights. This policy will see a rapid increase in the number of direct flights from Europe and the UK over the coming years and also a forcing of lower fares through pricing competition.' Plans are currently afoot to restart direct flights from London Stansted to Sal and Santiago with the Cape Verdean carrier TACV. Meanwhile, Thomson fly from Birmingham, Gatwick and Manchester to Sal twice a week. TAP fly from London Heathrow via Lisbon to Sal and Santiago daily (Santiago every day apart from Tuesdays) and connecting flights from Sal to Santiago occur several times a day. |
