The Investment

Reasons to Invest in Cape Verde property
Cape Verde has only recently been touted as a location where conditions are good for overseas investors. It has an expanding economy, driven by tourist figures and overseas private investment. It has political stability and an all year round warm, sunny climate. It is the closest tropical Island destination to Europe, and has just one, 12 month tourist season.

For private investors, this represents a compelling case for property purchases which will offer short to long term capital appreciation, high rental yields as well as a lifestyle improvement choice. In short, it offers all kinds of investors a reason to buy cape Verde property whatever their requirements.

Economy growth
According to the IMF (International Monetary Fund) the economy has risen by 10.8% in 2007 and is likely to expand by 7.7% in 2008. There has been a consistent growth of  5 - 10% year on year since 1999. This is driven further by the growth in the tourist sector as an up and coming holiday destination and continuing investment in public infrastructure. The country has also benefited from €1.5 billion from private investment from overseas. The national currency is fixed to the Euro for financial stability and the country is now a member of the 'World Trade Organisation' to assist in further investment and development. Employment currently stands at approximately 80%.

Tourism
Unlike most holiday destinations, Cape Verde is a bustling tourist location all year round. Investors who favour rental returns will see a more consistent return when other countries are out of season. The Government has forecasted that tourist figures will increase from 200000 in 2005 to 1 million in 2010, and is investing in infrastructure to cope with the demand. Lack of bed stock currently means that resorts such as Sambala resort will facilitate these requirements. Tourism currently contributes 10.5% towards the GDP.

Capital appreciation
A Cape Verde property investment offers remarkable short to long term gains and buying now will represent an 80 - 90% return over a five year period. Additionally, Sambala's Standard Rental Offer will generate 10% ROI per annum based on moderate 65% occupancy (5% ROI based on 40%).
