New business agency launched in Cape Verde Cape Verde government sets up new agency to offer help to small enterprises The Cape Verde government has revealed details of a new organisation designed to support the growth of small business on the islands. According to macauhub.com, the Agency for Business Development and Innovation was unveiled in Praia on Tuesday (November 4th) and will be responsible to economy ministers. The agency has been founded with the aim of boosting the competitiveness of the Cape Verde private sector by supporting creative programmes among small and medium-sized businesses. It will also improve access to funding for small enterprises and provide assistance with IT systems. Janira Hopffer Almad, spokesperson for the Council of Ministers in Cape Verde, recently claimed it is vital for the country to sustain the "momentum of economic growth" which has built up in recent years. She said that continued investment in the economy would result in "dynamic social development" in Cape Verde.
