Cape Verde 'is well-governed' Cape Verde is one of the best-governed countries in Africa, according to a new report. Cape Verde has been identified as one of the best-governed countries in the whole of Africa. The Ibrahim Index of African Governance was compiled by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in order to gauge how well each respective nation in the continent is managed. More than 50 different criteria, including the rule of law, transparency and corruption and sustainable economic growth were taken into account, reports AllAfrica.com. Cape Verde was one of the highest-ranked countries in the continent, coming behind only Mauritius and the Seychelles. The west African archipelago achieved a score of 74.7 in the rankings, based on scale of zero to 100. Researchers also considered issues such as safety and security when compiling the index, along with personal development, participation and the exercising of human rights. This echoes the findings of similar studies by the African Development Bank and Harvard University. This article was brought to you by Sambala Developments: the developer for Cape Verde property.
