New money transfer service now open to Cape Verde expats The Post Office has launched a finance service that may be useful to British expats and Cape Verde property owners. British expats who own Cape Verde luxury townhouses and villas may be able to handle their international finances better from now on with the introduction of a new initiative from the Post Office. The Post Office Overseas property Money Transfer Service allows those whose financial affairs span various countries to transfer money from bank-to-bank with greater ease by fixing their rate of exchange. This serves to protect the finances of holiday home owners from currency fluctuations and also allows them to use the money transfer service for their own homes. "With zero per cent commission and our competitive exchange rates, we will be saving customers a serious amount of money if they've just sold their house or are paying a deposit on a new property," explained Sarah Munro, head of money transfers at the Post Office. In related news, Bank of England statistics show that the of people opting to remortgage their first homes in the UK increased by 9.8 per cent in June when compared to May, suggesting that more Brits could be considering investing in property abroad.
