Cape Verde 'working on international promotion' If Cape Verde is to attract more Overseas property investors, businesses and tourists, it must first develop clear and proactive measures on how this can be achieved, it has been stated. One organisation in Cape Verde has elaborated upon how the country can gain extra prominence among its international neighbours and invite more businesses and overseas property investors. Director of the Cape Verde Investment Agency Carlos Rocha said recently that the country can better position itself by devising a clear strategy and ending the culture of being "passive" towards opportunities, Macauhub reports. Mr Rocha said that the government needs to pursue potential businesses and investors, rather than wait for them to approach independently. "This means we have to be proactive, in terms of going out and finding the investors Cape Verde wants and needs, whether they are companies, sectors or countries," the news provider quotes him as commenting. Additionally, tourism is an area Cape Verde needs to build upon and attracting more visitors and holiday home owners should be a joint effort on behalf of the government and the state tourist office, he added. One international figure who is soon to visit Cape Verde is US secretary of state Hilary Clinton, who is set to embark upon a seven nation tour of Africa on August 5th.
