More people 'opting to stay in holiday homes' Renting a holiday home ahead of a trip rather than staying in a hotel is becoming more popular among all types of travellers, a report has found.
Those who own property overseas may like to take advantage of a reported increase in the number of people opting for holiday homes rather than hotels.
According to the latest report from Holiday Rentals, the firm has seen a 30 per cent increase in people searching for empty holiday homes to stay in during their trips abroad.
This means that those who own Cape Verde property or second homes in other countries could rent their properties for a spell in order to make some extra money and allow visitors to enjoy the country in more personalised accommodation.
"While the travel industry in general struggles, demand for rentals is going from strength to strength as travellers realise they can rent a whole home for less per head than a hotel," explained managing director of the firm Courtney Wylie.
