Cape Verde strengthens Paris ties with new citizen house Those who own Cape Verde property may be pleased to hear that its ties with mainland France have been strengthened with the founding of a new Citizen House. A new Citizen House, designed to ease the problems of Cape Verdeans living in and visiting France, has been opened in Paris, marking a move which could strengthen ties between the two nations. The new hub will see Cape Verdeans have their vital documents, such as visas, processed much more quickly and smoothly as its opening coincided with the 10th anniversary of the ruling African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde's (PAICV's) founding in the country. Basilio Ramos, secretary general of party, said that it previously took between six and nine months for people to secure documents, but "with the establishment of the Citizen House, a citizen will have the same document on the same day". Present at the house's inaugration was Jose Armando Duarte, Cape Verde's ambassador in France, reports Africa News. Those who own Cape Verde property will also be able to enjoy direct flights between Paris and the island of Sal as of this October.
