Those who own a Cape Verde property, real estate or holiday homes may like to take the chance to spruce them up a little while renovation prices are at their most attractive, one expert has suggested. According to director of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) Andrew Leech, now could be a good time to add some flourishes to an overseas property as builders are currently offering competitive rates. However, if they do opt for a spot of renovation, overseas property owners must make sure they "get the right person". "Don't just be fooled by the price they are offering," he urges. "Make sure they are a bona fide builder and have done that sort of work before." A survey conducted this month by AA Personal Loans found that 32 per cent of Brits believe that a structural enhancement raises the value of property.
