'Interest rising' in overseas property ownership More people are interested in investing their spare funds into Overseas property, according to an expert. Increasing numbers of people are enquiring about purchasing property abroad as they look for safe assets in which to invest their money, it has been claimed. According to Adam Samuel, director of online overseas property resource Nubricks, the organisation has seen "an increase in the amount of clients coming through searching across all the different overseas property markets". This is due to people with savings "looking for alternatives to invest their money [in] compared to the stock market", he added. Furthermore, a rise in the number of enquiries into more unusual location, such as South Africa and Croatia, could be down to currency at the present time, as this may make some destinations seem "more attractive", the expert concludes. Recent data from Primelocation.com showed that the number of people enquiring into overseas property ownership through the site rose by 14 per cent in March 2009 compared to a year previously.
